Geocaching
Warminster is filled with all sorts of history. As Warminster celebrates its 300 anniversary in 2011, why not learn the history of this town through a family fun adventure of geocaching. All it takes is some time, computer, printer, and/or GPS device and you learn all about the history of Warminster Township being your own explorer. There are at least four (4) methods of finding a geocache:
- Use a hand held GPS device.
- Try entering the geocache coordinates using a vechicle GPS device while walking.
- Many cell phones now have GPS applications.
- No GPS or cell phone – no worries. Using your compter, enter the geocache coordinates into Goggle Maps.
Google maps will show you exactly the target area using the satellite view. Print out a copy and head out.Good luck discovering Warminster historical sites.

May 14: Warminster Geocaching Event Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden outdoor containers, called geocaches, and then share your experiences online. Geocaching is enjoyed by people from all age groups, with a strong sense of community and support for the environment. There are hundreds in the Warminster area. During the event, we will concentrate on the existing 20 or so in the Munro and Warminster Community Parks. See http://coord.info/GC2NNVW
May 21: Warminster Symphony at AB Wood HS - A concert by the Warminster Symphony Orchestra to celebrate 300 years of Warminster’s history.
May 30: Memorial Day Ceremony & Parade: This is the annual event with a Tri-Centennial twist.
Sept 3-4: Al Perlini Soccer Tournament @ Wm. Tennent, Log College, Willow Dale & Munro
Sept 10: Warminster Tri-Centennial Day at WCP including the dedication of Safety Town and a Living History Day “A Day in the Life of a Revolutionary Soldier”, featuring an authentic presentation by the 4th Legionary Corps with horses and day long interactive narratives.
