Community Build
On Saturday, July 28 2007 about 50 community volunteers, including workers from IBEW Union Local #126, and the Skate Park Committee showed up to Munro Park (Newtown Road) to help install the skate park on the refurbished court surface. After a few hours of hard work, putting together the equipment with hundreds of screws and bolts, we completed the build in record time and the skate park was ready for a "trial run". Those who attended to help build the park were amazed at what they accomplished and enjoyed a few hours of breaking in the new equipment. Thank you to everyone who showed up and helped.
Grand Opening
On Saturday, September 15, 2007, we held the Grand Opening of the Warminster Skate Spot at Munro Park. As a special tribute, the Spot was dedicated in memory of Kyle Quinn. Over 125 people attended the ceremony and then kicked off the event which included a great day of skating, demos, Dj music, food and good times. Semi-Professional boarders from Skatewave where on hand along with DJ P-Ski and RockStar Energy Drink. Great job to everyone on the Skate Park Committee.
If you're looking to support the Skate Spot or would like to make a donation on Kyle Quinn's behalf, please visit our sponsor section.
