RUBBER DUCKY REGATTA

Join us for our LUCKY 13th Annual
RUBBER DUCKY REGATTA
Sunday, May 18, 2008 at 1:00 PM @ Kemper Park
Once again, Parks & Recreation & Commerce Bank will present this hilarious family event for its 13th consecutive year. Hundreds of Rubber Duckies float down the Neshaminy Creek to compete in a race to the finish line. Your duck(s) could win and you could receive prizes totaling $500.00. Numbered ducks will be placed in the water in Kemper Park and duck marshals will be on hand to retrieve them. Official ducky number tickets may be purchased at the WREC, Township Building Tax Office and Library. The more ducks you buy, the better your chances! Tickets donated by CP Printing.

TICKETS ARE: $5.00/ Ducky or 5 Duckies for $20.00 You need not be present to WIN! PRIZES: 1st Prize - $200.00 2nd Prize -$150.00 3rd Prize - $100.00 4th Prize - $50.00

“JUST DUCKY” PICNIC” Prior to the Rubber Ducky Regatta, we'll be hosting a family picnic for all attendees. Families are invited to bring a picnic lunch and we'll supply dessert with help from Rita's Water Ice and soft pretzels privided by Sean and Ashley Mullen. Picnic begins at Noon! Weather permitting, immediately following the Regatta there will be a 1/2 hour of family games and activities.

FATHER’S DAY FISHING DERBY FOR KIDS

Sunday, June 15, 2008
7:30-11:30 AM (Fish from 8:45-11:00 AM)
Location: Angler’s Pier/Pavilion 1, Peace Valley Park, Creek Road, New Britain
Fees: $5/child or $10/single family of 2 or more children Children, ages 5-15 years, are eligible; those under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
No fishing license is required but all PA Fish and Boat Rules and Laws will apply.
Check-in to receive ID tag and “goodie bag” from 7:30-8:30 AM.

WARMINSTER DAYS

Thursday thru Saturday, September 4-6, 2008 @ Warminster Community Park The Warminster Days Committee (WDC) will present a celebration including carnival, food, entertainment and family fun. Community Organizations are invited to participate in Community Day on Saturday, Sept 6. Many Volunteers will be needed to make this day a success – please take some time to assist them! HEAVIEST TOMATO CONTEST

August 1-September 26, 2008 Residents of Bucks and Montgomery County are invited to participate in the WREC’s annual Heaviest Tomato Contest. If you have a tomato that’s ripe, not rotten, and would like to enter it in our contest, stop by the WREC, Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM to weigh in your champ. A prize will be awarded to the winner. Good luck to everyone!

Come out and enjoy an unforgettable experience where kids, young & old, can touch, honk, and climb aboard some of the big rigs, construction, and public safety equipment they see on the road everyday. A great & safe way to see these trucks up close and personal! If you have a truck that you would like to bring to the event, call us at (215)443-5428 by August 1.

PUMPKIN CHUCK
Halloween is over, but we’ll be using those leftover pumpkins in our newest event –the PUMPKIN-CHUCK at Warminster Community Park!
Fees: $20 entry fee, includes 3 pumpkins to toss

Check in starts at 8:30 AM
Pumpkins start flying 9:30 AM

Pumpkin Chuck Rules
• Maximum throwing distance should be no greater than 1000 feet.
• Machines used to launch the pumpkins shall be Trebuchets, Onagers, or of a similar type.
• Machines using compressed air or a propellant of any type, will not be allowed. No exceptions!
• No centrifugal-type machines will be allowed. In other words, no more than one rotation to project the pumpkin allowed.
• Pumpkins are to be intact when they leave the machine. Pumpkin shrapnel is a zero point throw.
• No part of the machine shall move past the front firing line or move back behind the rear line of the launch field anytime during the contest.
• Non-motorized cranking devices may be used to cock the machine.
• Teams can be made up of 2-8 participants. (Youth must all be w/in the age range).
• Each team will have three consecutive throws for Longest Distance down the runway.
• Each throw will be completed on the sound of the horn.
• Pumpkins provided by Parks and Recreation.
• No contestants are allowed in landing area.
• Winner is the best of 3 throws for distance.
