Summer Camps / Swimming Lessons
Please note, that Playgrounds, Teen Camp and Swimming lessons registration can not be done online or in the mail.

Playgrounds and Teen Camp
Parents will only be allowed to register children in their household! Parents will be required to sign medical and disciplinary waivers. Payment plan is available for camp programs – post-dated checks must be left with Parks & Recreation at time of registration. All PG/TC registration must be done in person at the WREC. After May 17, registration will continue during regular office hours: 8:30 AM-4:30 PM, until program is filled. If trips are not a priority, skip the chaos on Saturday morning and come during the week! All dates & times subject to change without notice.

Playgrounds and Teen Camp Information
PLAYGROUNDS (PG) & TEEN CAMP (TC)
These neighborhood recreation programs are designed to be different from day-care and structured camps. The program emphasizes multiple activities designed for each age group throughout the day - games, sports, arts & crafts, trips and special events. Flexible scheduling allows youth and teens to choose their favorite activities. PROGRAM HELD RAIN OR SHINE! (Calendar and schedule subject to change without notice)
AGES: Playground 6-10
Teen Camp 11-14.
Playground: Children who have completed one year of kindergarten thru children who are entering fifth grade in September.
Teen Camp: Youth entering sixth grade thru entering ninth grade in September.
HOURS: Mon-Fri, 8:30 AM-3:30 PM
DATES: Four (4) week sessions: A - June 28-July 23 (no camp 7/5 - schools closed)
OR B - July 19-August 13
Seven (7) week session: June 28-August 13
LOCATIONS:
PG: Leary, Longstreth, & McDonald Elementary Schools & the WREC
TC: Leary and McDonald Elementary Schools, and the WREC
FEES: (Trips and Bowling are extra)
Resident: Four (4) week session: $375/child
Seven (7) week session: $490/child
Non-Resident: Four (4) weeks: $485/child
Seven (7) week session: $680/child
Weekly Bowling Option: Reduce the hassle of weekly bowling fees and get seven (7) weeks for the price of six -$33 (get one week free!) Must be paid at time of registration. No refunds.

PG/TC TRIPS
Held each Wednesday and available only to playground & teen camp participants. Trips are optional, and youngsters should register and pay for trips at the time of registration. Bowling ($5.50/week) is still payable weekly unless you choose the 7-week discount option. WREC site will be open for all youth & teens not attending the trip, and children from other sites will be bused to WREC during each trip.
June 30: PG/TC @ the Movies
Bring a lunch. This will be a late morning trip. Movie:TBA Fee: $9.00 (Snack Pack will cost $5.75)
July 7: PG - Palace Roller Rink
Bring a lunch; this will be an afternoon trip. Late return possible. Fee: $5.00
July 7: TC - Ultra Zone Laser Tag
Bring a lunch. Includes two games of laser tag and a limited # of tokens. Participants may bring additional token $. Fee: $13.00
July 14: PG/TC – Nockamixon State Park
Bring a lunch, sunscreen, swimsuit & towel. This is an all day trip. Fee: $8.00
July 21: PG/TC – Neshaminy Shore
Includes lunch. Bring a towel, swimming suit, sunscreen & a change of clothing. Wear your bathing suit under your camp t-shirt! T-shirts not allowed in the pool – wear sunscreen! This is a full day trip. Fee: $19.00
July 28: PG/TC – Trenton Thunder
Includes ticket to game, lunch buffet & transportation. Bring baseball hat, glove, & sunscreen! Fee: $26.00
August 4: PG/TC – Franklin Institute
Includes Museum Pass & IMAX Movie. Bring a bagged lunch. Fee: $14
August 11: - PG/TC @ the Movies
Bring a lunch. This will be a late morning trip. Movie:TBA / Fee: $9.00 (Snack Pack will cost $5.75)
After Camp Hours
AFTER CAMP HOURS AVAILABLE AT THE WREC!
Need a few extra hours of camp for your child? We continue to offer After Camp Hours at the WREC only (WREC must be your child’s home site) to meet family scheduling needs. All After Camp payments must be made at time of registration. No Refunds. Must have 10 child minimum for program to be held.

** PLEASE NOTE - One class in each session will be devoted to water safety and students must attend to pass current level. Please limit each child to one session/summer. Parks & Rec reserves the right to cancel any session or change skill levels offered due to insufficient registration. Bring a copy of the child's last completed certification to registration.
We’ve added more IPAP classes! Tots, ages 18 mos-4 years (IPAP-Level I), must be accompanied in the water by an adult. Please alert us to physical and mental challenges so your child can be taught accordingly. *Level VIII - Pre-lifeguard class for advanced swimmers. All classes are held at Log College Middle School, Norristown Road. Instructors are certified. Operating hours and dates on ALL swimming programs are subject to change without notice. Pool availability may change due to School District & Murphy’s Swim Club schedules.

AFTERNOON SWIM @ LCMS
Date: Wed, Jun. 30-Aug. 4
Time: 1:10-2:30 PM
Fees: $3/person/day
All children 15 & under must be accompanied by a paying adult who will go in the water. Two lap lanes will be open for swimmers 16 & older. Number of participants limited each day. Professional staff is not there to babysit children. Groups must contact the Rec. office prior to participating. Township reserves right to close program if number of swimmers does not reach minimum.
LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION

Location: Murphy’s Swim Club
Fees: $275/person
Looking for an exciting summer job? Become a lifeguard! Join Zak from the American Red Cross as he teaches the certification course to prepare you for all aspects of the lifeguard experience. Attendance at all 3 classes is required to receive your certification card. Prerequisites: Must swim 250 yards front crawl, 250 yards breaststroke & retrieve brick from deep end of the pool.
