THEATRE CAMP
Date: Mon-Fri, Jul. 28-Aug. 1
Time: 9:00 AM-3:00 PM

Ages: 7-11
Back by popular demand, this week-long camp is designed to expose children to the craft of theater. Creative exercises will be used to develop characters, stories, sketches, vocal and physical strength and teamwork. Tuesday through Thursday the actors work on a script - deciding on characters, location, and time. A performance will be held on Friday. Bring a snack & lunch each day. Instructor: Nick Bendas

IMPROV FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
Date: May 21-Aug. 6, Wed only!
Time: 6:00-7:30 PM
Fees: Free
Youth, ages 12-18, will learn improvisation and comedy skills, acting and theater techniques. Improv games focus on those similar to ABC’s “Whose Line is it Anyway”. Call to register by May 16: 215-443-5428 Class minimum: 10

POP STAR VOCAL CAMP

Fees: $95/session (includes materials fee and DVD of performance)
Location: Absolute Music School, Hatboro
Find out if you have a hidden talent or what it takes to be the next “American Idol”! This week long camp will teach the basics of vocal control, breathing, posture, confidence and most importantly - HAVING FUN WHILE SINGING!! Everyone will receive their own warm up CD and lyric sheet. You don't need to be able to read music! Program will culminate in an “Idol” show on Friday AM for the summer playground program. Registration required by June 27 or Aug. 1 to allow for participants to pick their music and have pre-camp recording session. Participants must bring a notebook with clear sheet protectors to camp each day.

EARLY PICASSO - Fine Arts for the Younger Set
Date: Mon, Jul. 7-Wed, Jul. 16
Time: 9:00 AM-Noon
Fees: $55/R $60/NR
Ages: 7-9
Designed especially for the younger set, this mini fine arts camp will allow participants to discover the joy of art by working with a wide variety of materials and media. This course introduces many different techniques in drawing, clay, and painting. Bring water bottle and a snack. Fee includes art materials.

FINE ARTS CAMP
Date: Mon-Thu, Jul. 21-31
Time:9:00 AM-Noon
Fees: $80/R $85/NR
Ages: 10-14
In this two-week workshop, participants will develop self-confidence working with art materials and will try as many different media as time permits. Designed to explore many different techniques in drawing, clay, painting, and print making, students are allowed to work at their own speed. Individualized instruction will challenge each participant. Bring water bottle and a snack. Fee includes art materials.

FINE ARTS CAMPS SUMMER ART SHOW
As a tribute to our young artists, all Early Picasso & Fine Art creations will be on display in the halls and showcases of the WREC from August 4-7. There will be an official Art Show Reception on Thursday, August 7 from 6:30-7:30 PM. All artwork can be picked up immediately following the reception at 7:30 PM. Refreshments will be served.

MOBILE ARTS VAN
Bringing Arts to the Parks! Children are welcome to visit the parks for an hour of free arts and crafts. Our van and staff will be on hand at Maple Street Park, WCP, Crooked Billet Green and Meadow Run Park on a rotating schedule beginning June 26, 2008. Call Parks & Rec for info: (215) 443-5428.

Summer Children's Theatre

OPEN AUDITIONS! Youth, ages 12-18, may audition for our Summer Children’s Theater production of “The Brothers Grimm – Out of Order” on Monday & Tuesday, May 12 & 13 @ 7:00 PM @ the WREC. Children must attend at least one May audition date to participate and be available for dress rehearsals (wk of 7/21) & show dates - July 25-26 at 7:00 PM. Directed by Charla & Charles Bendas.
