01/28/12

The Warminster Township Police are asking for assistance from the public. On Saturday, January 28, 2012 approximately 0145 hours, an altercation occurred in the parking lot of Penguin’s Pub located on York Road in Warminster. At some point during the altercation a stabbing occurred. Detectives have spoken with the victims but police are asking anyone that was in the area at that time or leaving the pub to contact Warminster Police about anything they may have seen.  

One of the victims in the altercation was treated and released, the second was held for observation. There does not appear to be life threatening injuries at this time. The Suspects were described as white males, one approximately 6’2” in height and heavy set.  The other is 5’10” and skinny build.

** At this time no further information is being released.  If more information is received an additional press release will be put out. Police Detectives are actively investigating the incident at this time. If anyone has information or witnessed this incident at Penguins Pub they are asked to call the Warminster Police immediately, at 215-443-5000 or after normal office hours at 215-672-1000.

On January 27, 2012 at approximately 2329 hours Officers of the Warminster Township Police Department were dispatched to the report of a struck pedestrian at the intersection of Street Road and Louis Drive.  A male subject with injuries was found on location by Police.  The male victim was struck on Street Road in the area of Louis Drive by a vehicle travelling east bound on Street Road.  Anyone with information regarding this accident is asked to call Warminster Police Head quarters at 215-443-5000 or the police dispatch at 215-672-1000 if calling after normal office hours.   At this point there is no further information.

01/18/12

The Warminster Township Police Department and the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office announce that Laurie Wint was transferred by New Jersey authorities into the custody of Warminster Township and Bucks County Detectives. Laurie Wint was wanted for Homicide in connection with the July 24, 2011 stabbing death of Tyrone Newman at the Bucks Landing Apartment complex in Warminster Township. Another individual, John T. Briggs is also wanted in connection with this prosecution. Briggs is in custody in New Jersey and is expected to be extradited back to Bucks County.

Wint has been in custody since his arrest by New Jersey authorities on July 31, 2011. Wint was found hiding in a closet in a house in Camden New Jersey. At the time, Wint was also wanted for a homicide that occurred in Camden in June 2011.

Wint was extradited and taken back to Bucks County were he was arraigned by Magisterial District Justice Mark D. Douple on Homicide and related charges and remanded to the Bucks County prison in without bail. A court date has not been set.

On Thursday 1/26/2012 The Warminster Township Police Dept was contacted by Arch Bishop Wood High School in reference to a potential threat that was written on a door at the school.   As a precaution and at the schools request the Warminster Police along with several other departments swept the school late last night for potential hazards utilizing Officers and specially trained Police K-9 dogs.  At approximately midnight last night the school was deemed to be safe and clear of hazards and was turned back over to High School officials.  At the request of the school, Police were on scene this morning (Friday 1/27/2012) at the High School as a police presence and as extra security while students entered the building for classes.  No problems were reported and all appears to be back to normal. At this time the threat is believed to be a hoax.  Detectives are currently investigating the matter.  If anyone has information regarding this incident they are asked to call Warminster Township Police Department at 215-672-1000 or 215-443-5000.

FULTON BANK ROBBERY - ARREST MADE

The Warminster Township Police Department, through a joint investigation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, identified the subject that allegedly robbed the Fulton Bank – 603 York Road Warminster, PA  18974 – on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 1123 Hours.  The subject was identified as Barrie Golland – a white male, 78 years old, from the Elkins Park section of Cheltenham Twp.  Golland was taken into custody without incident.  He was then arraigned by District Justice Mark Douple.  Bail was set at $150,000 unsecured.

On 12/22/2011 at approximately 1120 hrs Officers of the Warminster Township Police Department were dispatched to a Bank Robbery that had just occurred. The Robbery was done using a demand note. Unknown at this time if the actor was armed with a weapon. Mainly $1’s and $5’s were taken in the robbery. The Alledged Actor shown below reportedly left in a tan color vehicle, possibly a Mercury Model car. The actor is described as an older White Male possibly in his 60’s or 70’s. He was wearing a black or dark colored fedora style hat, along with black or dark colored slacks, long sleeve shirt and vest. The actor was also wearing sunglasses.
