08/30/10

On Monday August 30, 2010 at approximately 1624 hours Warminster Police responded to the area of York Rd. and Prospect Ave. for a report of two struck pedestrians. Upon arrival police confirmed that two juveniles (male and female under 10 yrs. of age) were struck as they attempted to cross York Rd. Further investigation revealed that the two juveniles who were with an older sister ran into traffic crossing the south bound lanes safely but were struck by a vehicle traveling north bound on York Rd. The driver of the striking vehicle stopped at the scene and provided all information requested. Both children were transported to Abington hospital by medical personnel. One child (the male) was immediately flown to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The female was being treated at Abington Hospital. Both children sustained very serious injuries and are listed in critical condition. Anyone with information or questions should contact Lt. On Saturday, August 14, 2010 approximately 2335 hours members of the Warminster Police Department responded to a robbery at the Burger King located at 580 West Street Road. Officers learned that a male/black had entered the store through the drive-thru window and ushered employees into the office. The suspect left with an unknown amount of cash. During the incident an employee was struck in the head with what appeared to be a small handgun. No other injuries were reported.
