Hello Bark Park Member

It appears that Spring is has moved into "fast forward" mode with warmer weather and now we  have an extra hour to play with our four legged friends. As you start to enjoy the Bark Park more this year, we wanted to update you on a few things.

Quick reminders - Bark Park is open 7 am- Sunset;  Children under 10 should not be in the park.

1. In the event of an emergency, or you get locked into the Bark Park due to electric failure, the combination to the two maintenance gates is now 2010. If we change the combination throughout the season, it will be posted on the back of the electric box above the exit button.  Please remember, ONLY use this in case of an emergency.  Your gate card should continue to work without any issues. But if you do experience a problem, or you see people using these gates to get into the park, please notify us at recreation@warminsterpa.org or give a us a call at 215-443-5428.

2.  We'd like to congratulate those members who passed the test!  We understand someone with a dog approached several members to see if they could get in without a membership Paw Pass card.  Good job to those who declined!  Please remember that if you permit anyone who is not a member into the park, you may be putting your animals and your membership at risk. As a member, you have met all of the requirements.  Please be aware that numerous old members have chosen not to participate and their Paw Pass cards have been deactivated.  Please do not let others into the park with your gate card.  This is for everyone's safety.

3.  There will be no limits on the number of members we allow in the Bark Park this year but membership will still be valid until December 31, no matter when you become a member!

4. Remember, the dog park is for the dogs, but the owners are the ones that keep it safe, so please talk to each other and work together so everyone can enjoy a fun and safe environment at the Bark Park!  Why not consider coming out to one of the FREE Bark Park seminars as a refresher course in dog park safety, we would love to have you! You can find the current list on the Bark Park website.

5. Members of the Bark Park are welcome to join the new facebook page, if you wish to set up a play date for your canine friend.  Please visit page by clicking here. The Parks and Recreation Department does not have control over these postings, so please check with the group administrator for more information.

6.  Last fall we were experiencing some problems with our fountains and sent the parts away for repair.  We hope to have them back and the fountains up and running by early April.  In the meantime, as weather gets warmer, be sure to bring water for your pet.

7.  Our own trainer, Eileen Conroy of a "Well Mannered Mutt"  will be a guest speaker on Nu Bow Wow, The Puppy Starter Kit talking about easing your Dog back into the Bark Park routine on March 23.  After a discussion, there will be time for questions and answers.  Here's the website with more information:  http://nubowwow.com/village/guest-of-eileen-conroy/

Thank you for your continued support and enjoy the Bark Park.
