The Wilson Senior Center welcomes all seniors 55 years and older in the local area and provides recreational programs such as line dancing, bingo, trips, arts/crafts, bridge, and now also, include computer education, yoga, zumba, card players and pool players. Other services such as legal assistance, income tax preparation, caseworkers, Meals on Wheels, and 55-Alive driving course are also provided. Lunch is served at noon each day. A donation of $2 is requested. Bingo is held on Wednesday evenings - doors open at 4 PM. The Wilson Center is available for rental for dances, parties, fund raisers, receptions or any other type of celebration. Please call the Center for available dates and information.
The Bucks County Community Traffic Safety Program is a comprehensive highway safety educational program offered to those who live and work in Bucks County. Centennial Aquatic Club (CAC) is a swimming and diving program that competes in the Suburban Aquatic League as well as United States Swimming and United States Diving competitions. Craven Hall Activities January – April 2012
Open house & tours at the Craven Hall Mansion & the John Fitch Museum are every 2nd Sunday of the month from Noon to 3:00 PM.
- Jan 8: Will feature open-hearth cooking demonstration of colonial Dutch foods.
- Feb 12: Will have a presentation from the hearth about food preservation and winter diets in this “starving time”
- Mar 11: Will be the date for our open house & tours including a presentation on 18th & 19th century medicine: science and receipts.
- Since Easter is the 2nd Sunday of April, April 15 will be our open house & tour date, plus:
- Open-Hearth Cooking Class: April 15, Sunday, 1:00-5:00 PM
This event offers the opportunity to learn skills for open-hearth cooking, using 18th century recipes, tools and practices in an original late 18th century kitchen. Then the class members will sit down to enjoy a dinner in the lovely 19th century parlor of Craven Hall. Each participant is encouraged to invite a guest to join at the dinner time. Historic Craven Hall which is on the National Register of Historic Places, retains almost 90% of its original interior from the 1840’s. The Friends of Warminster Library organization is seeking new members and donations to support much-needed projects for the library. Among many other projects, the Friends have provided funds for the Children's Early Literacy Station computers with bilingual capabilities. Many more projects are in the works. The primary purpose of TOPS Club Inc. is to help those interested in losing weight. Valley Youth House operates a free runaway and homeless youth shelter for young people ages 12-18 in Warminster. The Warminster Symphony Orchestra, a 65-piece community-based ensemble of talented and dedicated members, has provided cultural enrichment for residents of Bucks and Montgomery counties since 1966. Operated under the auspices of the Warminster Symphony Society as a nonprofit corporation, it is supported entirely by its subscribers, private donations, grants and business and industry sponsorships.
The Symphony has two concerts scheduled for the winter. The first is the Annual Pops Concert. This year it is "A Tribute to Frank Sinatra" It will be at Spring Mill Manor on Jan. 28th and includes Dinner. The second concert of the Year is on March 10th at 8:00 PM at William Tennent Auditorium. The theme for that concert is "Mozart & Magic & Mayhem"
