Celiac Day with the Phillies

26th ANNUAL BUCKS COUNTY SENIOR GAMES
If you have participated in Senior Games in past years, then come on back and join your friends. If not, here is your chance to have fun and meet new people with the same interests as you. Participants, for this great event, come from all over the County. This year’s Bucks County Senior Games will be held in May and June, and over 400 seniors participate each year. The Games are held for seniors 50 years and older. There are 22 events with something for everyone including: golf, tennis, bicycling, bowling, swimming, badminton, track and field, plus much more! The purpose of the Games is to encourage seniors to stay healthy and active, and become more health-conscious. In addition to the sports activities, there will be a Health Expo featuring a Fashion Show and Entertainment. The Games are co-sponsored with the Bucks County Area Agency on Aging, Bucks County Dept. of Parks and Recreation and Independence Blue Cross/Keystone Health Plan East.
Activities will be held at various locations throughout the county, check the listing below. Registration before May 2 will be $8 per person. Registration after May 2 will be $13 per person. Listed here are some of the major events and locations.
- May 29 to June 3 - Tennis, Core Creek Park, Woodbourne Road, Langhorne will offer 8 a.m. play for ages 60 and above. At 5:30 p.m. evening play at Central Park, Doylestown Township for those 50 to 59 years only.
- May 29 – Health Expo – 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Delaware Valley College, Rt. 202, Doylestown. This event will feature health screenings, giveaways, seminars, entertainment, fashion show, bingo and refreshments. Also included that day will be men’s and women’s bocce
- May 30 – Bowling, 8:00 a.m., Brunswick Zone Lanes, Street Road, Feasterville
- June 2 - Golf, 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fairways Golf Club, Rt. 611, Warrington (Rain date June 11)
- June 3 - 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Central Bucks Senior Center, Shady Retreat Rd., Doylestown
- June 4 – Central Bucks Family YMCA – Swimming and stationary bike - 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- June 4 – 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Central Bucks West HS, War Memorial Field, Doylestown events such as Track & Field, darts, badminton, etc.
- June 5 – Bicycle Time Trial and Hill Climb, Nockamixon State Park, Rt. 563, Quakertown, 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
- June 6 – Awards Luncheon – 12 noon to 2 p.m. - Dining Hall, Delaware Valley College, Rt. 202, Doylestown

Warminster Athletic Council (WAC) will hold their third meeting on Tuesday, July 8 at 6:30 PM at the WREC. Representatives from the various sport organizations are invited to attend to exchange ideas and discuss common issues.

The Wilson Senior Center welcomes all seniors 55 years and older in the local area. The Center provides recreational programs such as line and social dancing, bingo, trips, arts/crafts, bridge and pool. Many other services such as legal assistance, income tax preparation, caseworkers, mini-health clinic, Meals on Wheels, and 55-Alive driving course are also provided. Lunch is served daily at noon for a minimum donation. New members are invited to attend our Orientation Program held once a month - call to register. Bingo is held on Wednesday evenings - doors open at 5 PM. The Wilson Center is available for rental for dances, parties, receptions or any other type of celebrations. The Bucks-Mont Art League meets the third Wednesday of each month at the United Church of Christ, 785 W. Street Road, Warminster at 7:30 PM (Sept.-May). Our programs include artists demonstrating their technique and giving information in all forms of art – oil painting, water color, casein, sketching, pastel, etc.. All professional and amateur artists, and interested persons are welcome. Membership is $15/year. 15th Annual Kitchen & Garden Tour

The Bux Mont Doll Lovers Club is for doll collectors of all ages. This club is a chapter of the UFDC. They meet monthly, February through December, on the third Tuesday of the month. Bux-Mont Meals on Wheels, a non-profit organization that provides well-balanced meals to individuals with disabilities and shut-ins, is in need of DRIVERS and PANTRY AIDS! Colonial Muster Weekend at Craven Hall
May 31- June 1
A colonial encampment by re-enactors from the 5th PA Regiment and the PA State Navy. Weekend will include opportunities for young people to learn about early camp life, including learning to drill, make a rope bed, play colonial games, write with a quill pen, etc. Refreshments including hot dogs, ice cream and soda/water will also be available for sale. Free parking. A donation of $5.00/family is suggested and is good for both days.
Annual Antique Appraisal Night -
Friday, June 6th - 6:30 to 9:00 PM
Come and have your treasures appraised by a 4th generation auctioneer/appraiser, Barry Slosburg & Associates. $8 per item or three for $20. An in-house camera/TV will permit those waiting to follow the action. In addition, Lew Larason, author and lecturer on antique furniture, will share his expertise on the subject while you await your appraisal time.
We are a voluntary community chorus united by our love of music and a desire to sing. Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings in McDonald Elementary School in Warminster until June and then resume again in September. Although we do not have auditions, our members range from little or no musical training to some very talented singers with considerable experience and average between 50-65 members each session.
